Thyristor exciters for synchronous motors of series TES
Application
Power supply to rotors of synchronous motors for driving compressors, gas and air blowers, fans, rolling mills, pumps, ball mills and other similar loads.
Used in
– wood – pulp and paper industry;
– metallurgy;
– cement manufacture;
– oil – and – gas industry, etc.
Exciters ensure:
- optimal starting of synchronous motor depending on slip and on rotor current phase;
- stabilization of the preset excitation current;
- automatic regulation of the excitation current as a function of stator current and cos φ;
- limiting the minimum and maximum permissible rotor current;
- fast forcing of the rotor current at voltage drops;
- suppression of rotor field at switching off the circuit breaker or disconnection of the load unit from the power supply network;
- automatic control of the rotor insulation resistance with warning signal applied to the external circuit;
- exciters provide for additional regulation of the excitation current versus total, active or reactive current (power), as well as versus interior angle of the synchronous motor.
Schematic diagram
System of regulation enables adaptable adjustment of the excitation system to meet the requirements of the actual object, ensures communication with the upper level system. Setting the parameters at adjustment of the exciter is possible both directly from the exciter control panel and from a computer. Oscillograms in the process of starting can be also obtained with the help of a computer.
